I admit there had always good and bad news on the news channels, but nowadays, everything is so depressingly bad. Is the world really that bad?

Well, the Bible does say, "The whole wold is lying in the power of the Wicked One," (1 John 5:19) and prophecies that in the time of the end, the Devil will have "great anger, knowing he only has a short period of time."(Revelation 12:12) But there's hope implicit in that last statement. It is the time of the end for the world ruled by Satan, and God's Kingdom is coming soon.

I don't want to write much because I just found out a friend died, but I suggest having a look at JW.org. Their headline article at the moment is, "Severe Droughts, What does the Bible say?" I'm sure it's a good jumping off-point into other articles on the time of the end, and the site makes it pretty easy to find stuff in general. There's plenty of personal advice and encouragement too.
