I don't know why, but some kids and even pets act like this when it comes to going somewhere. They hate getting dressed and riding in the car, but are happy to arrive at the destination. My son acts like this when comes to some places too.

I wonder if they haven't made the connecton between getting dressed and going with being there.

My husband says they don't like the process especially when it comes to car seats and feeling restrained.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. One of my earliest memories is of unbuckling my car seat on my own. It was pretty easy compared to modern seats, (it was probably made in the 60s,) but it was an achievement for me. My parents had quite a different view of it!
