Word helps a friend at the parrot shelter who suffered from years of plucking. If you don't know, plucking to parrots is what cutting is to humans. They do it out of stress and agony, and it causes long term self mutilation. If your parrot is showing signs of doing this, please help them.

It took some time for out parrot to get over plucking/overpreening. It was something he started at the pet shop before we got him. It's still glorious to see him with full wings now.
